Interviewing is fun! I had never done any interviews
like his before and I now know lots of things
about IKEA. I have to say that interviewing
a VIP is a great experience. I know that one
day I will be really proud of myself. I also
know, if I could do this IKEA interview again,
I would do it better than the first time. I
would like to do more interviews, although I
think I will be a teacher and not a reporter
when I grow up. Mr. Curtis said ˇ§I want IKEA
to be a fun place for children. Children might
get bored when their parents are busy looking
at furniture. So, we want children to play in
the store, jump on all the beds and have a great
time!ˇ¨ The next interview would be another person,
a new place, a new theme and I could get new
answers. If I get chosen to do another interview,
I am ready to GO!!!!!! |

IKEA is so big! It is just like a big department
store! I had never been there before, but I
had a really good experience and now I want
to take my parents to see it. We interviewed
Mr. Curtis in English and I asked him if English
is the international language of business. He
said all languages are important in international
businesses, but all of IKEAˇ¦s stores use English
for business. Mr. Curtis said he hoped we could
keep our interest in studying and learning English
and other languages. And he told us a little
secret that he can speak Chinese too. We were
so excited! Later, we walked around IKEA and
we saw some special furniture and products that
we liked. Mr. Curtis gave us all a very beautiful
red horse. So cute! It is handcrafted from wood,
comes from Sweden and every one has a number
carved on it. It was a very thoughtful gift.
After window-shopping we ate some ice cream
in IKEA. It was delicious and it shows the consideration
IKEA has for its young consumers. Yummy! I like
IKEA because of the store layout and because
you can play with everything. What a great day! |

On 25th October, I met Mr. Curtis for an interview.
He was a very friendly gentleman. I think this
interview was a good experience and I learnt
many new things. It was fun, but actually I
felt very nervous because he is such an important
manager. Interviewing a VIP such as Mr. Curtis
is totally different to studying English in
a classroom. This was real! When we finished
the interview, we went to look inside an IKEA
store. There were so many things to look at,
like chairs, tables, lamps, toys, and lots of
other things. It was the first time I have been
to IKEA and I really liked it. Mr. Curtis told
us he is planning on opening more IKEA stores
in Taiwan soon. He even showed us the models
of the new stores. This is good news because
I think it is a great store. |
