As clichéd as the title is, there are a
million good reasons to live in Taipei, I thought
I would jot down the best reasons. I'm sure
it'll make people feel excited about moving
here, or if they never considered it an option, maybe
they will.
It's Super-CONVENIENT. No one sleeps so you can eat,
party drink or shop at almost any hour. Well, maybe
not shop, but there's enough of that until midnight
to kill a small shop-aholic.
So of course – there's the great SHOPPING!
If you're into bargaining at markets or label shopping,
it doesn't get much better than this!
The amazing clubs and NIGHT LIFE. Whether you're into
lounging at trendy lounge bars, dancing to trashy
tunes at cheap night clubs or dancing the night away
to world class dj's, Taipei's got it all.
One of my favourite things about living in Taiwan
is that it's easy, accessible and affordable
to TRAVEL to many amazing places. Whether it's
for the day, weekend or longer, there's always
somewhere to go. Day trips in the North of Taiwan
include some of these fantastic places:
Yeliu – Beautiful, crazy rock formations and
it's corny yet highly amusing ocean world show
make this a great day trip.
Chui fen – a great place to sip tea and explore
old architecture of a revived old town.
Bi shan temple – one of the best views of the
city on a good day...
Yanmingshan
Wu lai – my favourite place to soak in hot springs,
aaaah! The best hangover remedy!
Damshui – Where the river meets the sea, one
of the easiest places to get to or sundowners.
For weekends and longer holidays... Sun moon Lake
– a beautiful lake with affordable accommodation,
beautiful temples and traditional lake-side villages…
Kenting – the beach, the beach, the beach!!!
White sands, cheap, comfortable camping or reasonable
hotel, great food…. Toroko gorge– wowowowowowow!!!
Cheap, Safe, Traditional, Colourful, Diverse and the
rest, you will have to see for yourself.
